Placidus And Whole Sign Houses – How Do They Work? –
Published
3 weeks agoon

adminHouses are one of the most important – but also most controversial – topics in astrology.
The 12 signs are pretty straightforward – they are 30° each. Houses, less so.
There is no one single house system; there are several. They all ‘work’ in their own different ways, by highlighting a different ‘flavor’ of the chart.
Some house systems seem to work better with certain techniques (e.g., transits). Others better fit particular interpretation styles. It’s really all about understanding what each system’s value proposition is – and then using it with awareness.
HOUSE SYSTEMS: Placidus And Whole Sign Houses
Out of the tens of existing house systems, Placidus and Whole Sign Houses are the most popular. The most popular – AND the most different.
If we find similarities between some house systems (e.g., Placidus and Porphyry, or Whole Sign and Equal Houses) – Placidus and Whole Sign Houses are completely different.
Perhaps it’s their methodological difference that makes them the most debated house systems in contemporary astrology.
More than any other topic in astrology, there are some diehard Whole Sign advocates, as well as loyal Placidus users. There’s either ‘Team Placidus’ or ‘Team Whole Sign Houses.’
How can two – so different – house systems both ‘work’? There must be one that’s the correct one, right?
Here at the Astro Butterfly School, we believe that there’s no one ‘correct’ house system. Both house systems work – BUT in their own unique ways.
This means that the type of astrological insight you can derive by using one house system can be different than what emerges from using the other.
To understand what makes them different – but also suited to different applications – let’s talk a bit about the theory behind each:
Astrology was born well before houses, which are a more recent development. For a long time, astrology was observational – noting the day might involve tracking eclipses or the heliacal rising of planets. Then the 12 signs were conceptualized.
Houses – and natal charts – were a later addition, likely emerging from the need to apply astrology not only to kings and nations, but to regular individuals.
The fact that we have the same number of signs and houses speaks to an intrinsic conceptual link between the two. The houses – conceptually – originate from the signs. That’s why we have 12 houses – and not 24, 35, or any other random number.
The first obvious house system to be used was Whole Sign Houses – where the same principle used to derive the 12 signs was applied to the natal chart, resulting in 12 houses.
With Whole Sign Houses, the same theoretical framework that created the zodiac signs is applied to houses. In this system, each sign encompasses one entire house. For example, if your Ascendant is in Gemini, your first house is entirely Gemini, the second house is entirely Cancer, and so on.
What matters from a Whole Sign House perspective is which sign your house is in – the sign itself becomes the house.
Later, new house systems were developed. Equal Houses are similar to Whole Signs (they are 30° each), but they start with the degree of the Ascendant. So if your Ascendant is 5° Gemini, your 2nd house begins at 5° Cancer, and so on.
The difference here is that the Ascendant is no longer synonymous with the 1st house cusp; if a planet is above the horizon in your chart – even if in the same sign (for example at 2° Gemini) – with Equal Houses it moves into the 12th house.
Later, the Midheaven (MC) and the IC were included in house calculation. This is how the so-called “Quadrant” house systems – like Placidus – came about. Since the MC and IC are not necessarily 90° from the Ascendant-Descendant axis (unless you’re located right on the equator), Quadrant house systems – unlike Whole Sign or Equal – generate unequal houses.
There are many Quadrant house systems in use (they differ in how they divide the space between the angles), but the most popular one is Placidus.
Placidus is the most widely used house system, largely because most astrology software use it as the default. If you got your chart online or from an astrologer and you’re unsure which house system it’s based on – chances are, it’s Placidus.
The particularity of Placidus – and other Quadrant house systems – is that the Midheaven becomes an important anchor in the chart. And what is the Midheaven? Fundamentally, an expression of the Earth’s tilt and our geographic latitude.
Different latitudes – and times of year – can skew the Midheaven more to the right or left, giving us unequal houses. We could say that with Placidus, location matters.
Placidus Vs. Whole Sign Houses
Whole Sign Houses reflect the inbuilt design of the solar system, as mapped onto your natal chart.
Placidus is all about location, location, location.
And this difference is what helps determine which system works best for what.
Whole sign houses are a reflection of the 12 basic archetypes. Hence the premise that a house can only contain 1 sign – not 2, or 3 (or 12, if you’re at the Pole, where the horizon disappears).
So with Whole Sign Houses, with a Gemini rising, your 2nd house is Cancer, period. Not a bit of Gemini, a bit of Cancer. Not a bit of Cancer, a bit of Leo. This approach creates coherence in chart interpretation.
With Placidus, the sky’s the limit – quite literally, if we consider the method used to calculate it (with the Midheaven representing the highest point in the sky from the observer’s perspective). This suggests that Placidus is more terrestrial – more grounded in Earth, time, and the observer’s physical location on the globe.
With Whole Signs, the 12 houses – based on the 12 signs – are rooted in the solar system’s cycles, so we could say Whole Signs has a more ‘fated,’ Sun-centric expression.
Placidus, in contrast, is more about the Earth and the individual’s unique circumstances. It’s about the concrete expressions of celestial influences here on Earth.
Many people identify more with Placidus because it feels more personal, more specific to time and place – like a tailored imprint of the sky the moment you were born.
Placidus tends to be more ‘obvious’ because it shows up in ways that are more relatable from a terrestrial perspective – yet it might not explain the ‘DNA’ of the natal chart and underlying influences in the same way Whole Signs does.
Placidus AND Whole Sign Houses
Do both Whole Signs and Placidus work? Absolutely. It’s really about understanding the difference between the two – what sets them apart, and in which circumstances we might choose one over the other.
In interpretation, Whole Signs works well for big-picture themes, consistent life areas, and transits. Placidus is rich in nuance and tends to show how we actually experience the houses – how the ‘DNA’ of the Whole Sign house manifests in the terrestrial realm.
As we can see, different house systems can emphasize certain aspects of your chart differently. Some systems may align better with your interpretive style, while others might work better with specific techniques.
Some astrologers use only one house system – and it works great for them. Most likely, their interpretation style is also tailored to the unique features of that particular system.
Others primarily use one house system (for example, Placidus), but turn to Whole Sign Houses for particular techniques – such as Annual Profections.
And then there are those who use both systems in the same reading – usually people with plenty of experience working with each one individually – and manage to get the best of both worlds.
Placidus And Whole Sign Houses – How Do They Work?
If you’re interested in the topic of house systems – particularly the differences between Placidus and Whole Sign Houses – Caro from Astro Butterfly School will run the “Placidus and Whole Sign House Systems: How Do They Work?” webinar on this topic on April 25th, at noon EST.
In this webinar, she’ll explore the conceptual differences between Placidus and Whole Sign Houses and how they function differently in practice. Expect lots of chart examples!
The webinar if for you if:
- You are at least somewhat familiar with Placidus and Whole Sign houses – even if you don’t actively use both – and you’re curious to explore how they compare.
- You’re want to learn how to work with both Placidus and Whole Signs
- You want to understand the theory and meaning of different house systems in depth
The webinar might not suit you if:
- You’re not familiar with natal charts and houses (hint: if you’re not sure what your 3rd house cusp is, then this webinar will likely be too advanced)
- You feel very strongly about one of these two house systems and are looking to prove the other ‘wrong’
- You’re working with a different house system (e.g. Equal, Porphyry etc) and aren’t particularly interested in exploring Placidus or Whole Sign Houses
If you’re interested, you can purchase a ticket at THIS LINK.
The ticket includes access to:
- The live event on April 25th (you’ll receive email reminders with the Zoom link prior to the call)
- The webinar recording, transcript, and slides – including chart examples
- An additional video explaining the conceptual differences between the most commonly used house systems: Whole Sign Houses, Placidus, Equal Houses, and Porphyry
- A cheat sheet with side-by-side comparisons
- Practice exercises and reflection prompts to help you apply these insights to your own natal chart
The materials will become available by April 26th, 2025 (you will receive an email once they’re ready).

Full Moon In Scorpio May 2025 – No Turning Back
Published
5 days agoon
May 10, 2025By
adminOn May 12th, 2025, we have a Full Moon at 22° Scorpio.
The Full Moon in Scorpio marks a “no turning back” threshold. A choice has been made, whether consciously or not, and from this point on, the road only moves forward.
We are living interesting astrological times.
Right now, we have a foot in 2 worlds. A long, long chapter is coming to an end. Saturn is still in Pisces – at 29 degrees, ready to step into Aries. Uranus is in its final stretch in Taurus. Jupiter will soon move into a new sign – but for now, still in Gemini.
Yet, we can see glimpses of what’s on the other side. Pluto has switched signs, moving into Aquarius back in November. Neptune has recently moved into Aries. Energetically, we are already in this new Pluto-Neptune chapter of our lives.
But there are still things to untangle, make sense of, and release.
Here, at the cross between 2 worlds – between an old chapter and a new one – the Full Moon in Scorpio comes to illuminate the emotional depth of this transition.
Because times are a-changin’, as Bob Dylan said. Whether we like it or not. Whether we’re ready or not. There’s no turning back now.
At the upcoming New Moon in Gemini, Saturn will already be into Aries, following in Neptune’s footsteps – pressing the RESET button.
But we’re not there yet. There’s still something that needs to happen. Something that needs to be brought into light. Something that needs to be processed.
Full Moon in Scorpio – The Aspects
The Full Moon in Scorpio is opposite Uranus (at 26° Taurus) and trine Saturn (at 28° Pisces).
The Full Moon activates the mythical father and son archetypes, Uranus and Saturn.
These are 2 very interesting planets because on the surface they couldn’t be more different, yet if we look closer, both deal with the same core theme: structural change. It’s just that their approach differs.
Saturn wants to keep us inside the ring – literally and metaphorically – with all that comes with structure, reliable boundaries, and rules.
And Uranus wants to break us free – to venture outside the ring.
When these two interact, structural change happens.
We have 2 scenarios that lead to transformation:
- A hard Saturn aspect + supportive Uranus aspect
- Or a hard Uranus aspect + supportive Saturn aspect
In the first scenario – the Saturn-driven one – we hit friction. Something is no longer working, we fail to achieve results through discipline, and then ultimately, after trials and tribulations, we find our freedom (Uranus) by changing the way we’re doing things.
And in the second scenario – our Full Moon in Scorpio scenario – we first get the Uranian thunder and lightning: the shake-up, the Tower card moment.
But then, after Uranus shows us the alternative reality – the mind-blow, the jolt – we end up in a much better place than we were before.
Things fall into place. Our life immediately accommodates the change, as if somewhere, on a deeper plane, we were already planning for it.
How many times – and how many Uranus transits later – has leaving a relationship that has run its course, an unfulfilling job, or a draining friendship – things we would have NEVER dared with Saturn alone – turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to us?
The gift of this Full Moon in Scorpio is the humility to admit that perhaps our understanding was limited, that we don’t have all the answers – and to allow the peace that comes with that realization to reorganize our inner world.
“Now that I don’t need to prove to everyone I’m right… now that I take the ego out of the situation… I can actually look at this situation for what it is.”
It’s incredible that when we get to that stage, a whole world of opportunities opens in front of us.
The opportunities were always there – but we were blind to them, being too caught up in the narrative that belonged to stories and roles well past their expiration date.
Full Moon In Scorpio – No Turning Back
In this time of profound transition, everything is shifting – some things crumbling, others emerging.
And no one knows this better than Scorpio, the sign that has ‘transformation’ woven into its DNA.
Transformation means we take something that is important to us and let it evolve into something else—something better suited to the next phase.
While we might be moving into completely new territories, we always carry the distilled essence of our past, our experiences, and our soul’s memory.
“The only baggage you can bring is all that you can’t leave behind.” – Walk On, U2
If we were forced to leave in a rush, or start again, we would probably fill our one bag with only the true valuables – what really matters. Everything else, while it may carry memories, meaning, or attachments, can be left behind. It’s not really that important. We can leave – and live without it.
Similarly, it’s the core, distilled truth of our identity that truly matters. Whenever we drift off course, it’s usually because we’ve forgotten who we are – that essential spark, the drive, the WHY of our existence.
The Full Moon in Scorpio invites us to let go of the non-essential, while at the same time holding onto what’s deeply meaningful.
At this threshold moment in time, when we still have one foot in 2 worlds, let’s take what truly matters – the wisdom we’ve gathered on our long journey all the way to Pisces – and let’s open ourselves to new possibilities.
Soon, very soon, we’ll be standing fully in a new world – birthing something new from the ashes of what we’ve outgrown.

Astrology Of May 2025 – Saturn Enters Aries
Published
2 weeks agoon
April 29, 2025By
adminYou thought that the world was already at a tipping point? In May 2025, things are truly getting real – with Saturn, the planet of reality and structure, entering Aries.
Saturn is officially crossing the threshold – from the end to the beginning of the zodiac – following in Neptune’s footsteps.
Neptune in Aries has come with a storm – breaking old patterns, shaking things out, creating chaos – but also seeding new potentials, inspiring bold visions, and testing new frontiers.
The 165-year Neptune cycle has already been initiated last month – and now Saturn joins in to “seal the deal” and anchor it into reality.
With Saturn entering Aries, things are getting real, folks. Saturn’s role in astrology IS to make things real; so this is pretty much a point of no return. Whatever is seeded this month sets the foundations for many, many decades to come.
We cannot stress enough the importance of this ingress – because of its extraordinary rarity and “0 degrees/new chapter” quality.
This is a radical new beginning. This is uncharted territory – a space where we might feel lost without a map, but also a space where the brave and the visionary will chart the course ahead.
Neptune and Saturn are joining forces at the very first degree of the zodiac – 0° Aries, the cosmic ‘reset’ button. The world is about to shift in ways we can’t even imagine yet. These are interesting times to be alive, to say the least.
While Saturn in Aries is the transit highlight of the month, there are other important shifts and developments that create a clearer picture of what’s in the making.
Let’s dive into the most important transits of the month:
May 5th, 2025 – Pluto Goes Retrograde
On May 5th, 2025, Pluto goes retrograde at 3° Aquarius. The foundations of this – fairly new – Aquarian paradigm are now up for a review!
Pluto in Aquarius’ agenda is to shift the power (Pluto) away from the ‘authorities/elite’ (Capricorn) and democratize it (Aquarius). But this transition phase, this passing of the torch, is not coming without challenges.
Pluto’s retrograde at 3° is an opportunity to pause and reflect – and to make the necessary adjustments to align with what has emerged since November last year, when Pluto ingressed into the sign.
May 10th, 2025 – Mercury Enters Taurus
On May 10th, 2025, Mercury enters Taurus.
Mercury is still processing “what the heck just happened” after spending a couple of intense months in Pisces and Aries, retrograding back and forth, conjuncting Neptune, and navigating all that Pisces stellium energy.
Over the past months, Mercury has received critical information about the transition from the Neptune-in-Pisces era into the Neptune-in-Aries era.
And now, as Mercury picks up speed, it’s ready to proceed with the “implementation phase” – inviting us to ground the insights we’ve received and take the next practical steps.
Taurus is the builder of the zodiac, so Mercury in Taurus will help us build structures, stabilize ideas, and lay down the mental foundations needed to move forward with our new plans.
May 12th, 2025 – Full Moon In Scorpio
On May 12th, 2025, we have a Full Moon at 22° Scorpio. The Full Moon is opposite Uranus (at 26° Taurus) and trine Saturn (at 28° Pisces).
The Full Moon in Scorpio completes what the intense New Moon in Taurus (two weeks prior) had initiated. The change is now absorbed, and the disruption integrated.
What once felt like chaos transforms into long-lasting opportunity.
This Full Moon in Scorpio invites us to seize the intensity and realness of the moment and make a decision – now or never.
There is a decisiveness about this Full Moon – whether we choose to proceed ourselves, or whether “Uranus makes us do it” – action will be taken.
May 18th, 2025 – Sun Conjunct Uranus
On May 18th, 2025, the Sun and Uranus meet at 27° Taurus. This is the last Sun-Uranus conjunction in the sign of Taurus – at least for the next 80 years or so.
In its last weeks in the sign, Uranus helps us get a clearer sense of who we are – especially when it comes to the Taurus side of us, the part that’s all about stability, security, and self-reliance.
Maybe our idea of stability isn’t what we once thought it was. Maybe the very foundation we’ve been standing on has shifted. Either way, this transit is asking us to redefine what true security really means.
We are no longer the same person we were when Uranus entered Taurus, back in 2018.
By now – 7 years of Uranus in Taurus later – our sense of self-worth is no longer based on external validation, but a more authentic expression of our unique traits and gifts.
May 20th, 2025 – Sun Enters Gemini
On May 20th, 2025, the Sun enters Gemini, kicking off Gemini season.
Gemini season is when things get busy, busy, busy.
Gemini is that part of the year before a big seasonal shift (summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere) when we feel compelled to connect, exchange, and explore as many things as possible.
Our ‘antennas’ are now wide open. This is the season to get curious, get moving, and get out of our metaphorical Taurus couch and engage with the world.
Happy early birthday to all Geminis out there!
May 24th, 2025 – Mercury Conjunct Uranus
On May 24th, 2025, we have the final Mercury-Uranus conjunction in the sign of Taurus.
If the Sun-Uranus transit a few days earlier awakened your authentic DNA, Mercury will now translate what it all means.
Since we are talking about the last Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Taurus, this transit acts as a ‘final breakthrough’ – a kind of ‘conclusion’ or ‘aha moment’ related to the Taurus sector of your life.
May 25th, 2025 – Saturn Enters Aries
Today is the big day – the big shift: Saturn leaves Pisces and enters Aries, joining Neptune in the sign.
Saturn will stay in Aries until April 2028 – that’s 3 years of serious “Aries business” in your chart.
Of course, we cannot separate Saturn in Aries’ influence from Neptune – since the 2 are very, very close together. Something serious – something important – is in the making!
A detailed report about this transit will follow closer to the date.
May 28th, 2025 – New Moon In Gemini
On May 28th, 2025, we have a New Moon at 6° Gemini.
This is an auspicious New Moon – it is trine Pluto, sextile Neptune, and conjunct Mercury (and loosely conjunct Uranus).
We want to pay extra attention to this one – the New Moon in Gemini initiates an important configuration that we will see unfold over the next few years: a minor triangle between the “Big 3” – Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus.
So pay attention to whatever emerges – however subtle, however insignificant it may seem – because this will plant the seeds for future developments.
May 30th, 2025 – Sun Conjunct Mercury
On May 30th, Mercury is cazimi. The Mercury-Sun conjunction – at 9° Gemini – is the culmination of the current Mercury cycle – much like a “Full Moon” or, better said, “Full Mercury.”
Whatever was initiated when the current Mercury cycle began (on March 24th, 2025) will now come into full awareness, reach clarity, or require important decisions or adjustments.
PS: Talking about a major RESET. Neptune moved into Aries last month, now in May Saturn makes the same move. Next month, Jupiter moves into Cancer, and the following month, Uranus enters Gemini.
To work with this window of change, we created a special program called RESET, which will run throughout the month of June (mark your calendars). More information will be sent closer to the date.

On April 27th, 2025, we have a New Moon at 7° Taurus.
Taurus New Moons reconnect us to the Taurus archetype – what’s stable, what endures, what’s real.
If you’ve observed nature, there’s a certain unapologetic quality about it. Nature simply is. Trees are majestic in their stability. Flowers bloom naturally, without self-doubt or hesitation.
There’s a sense of ‘things are exactly how they should be’. No second-guessing, no overthinking – just presence, rhythm, and quiet assurance.
Taurus is that part of us that’s natural, grounded, pragmatic, and rooted in common sense.
Taurus is the real thing.
However, just like Persephone was suddenly abducted by Pluto from her peaceful garden while picking a narcissus flower – our own sense of stability can be abruptly shaken by the intense Mars-Pluto opposition tightly squaring this New Moon.
At the New Moon in Taurus, the very foundations of our life will be tested.
The question this lunation is asking is:
“Are these foundations a real, authentic expression of who you truly are?”
Because if not, something needs to change.
Something you’ve been resisting – perhaps because it felt safe, or because it was too uncomfortable to question – now demands your full attention.
Chances are, given the buildup of Mars-Pluto tension in recent months, a part of you already knows what is no longer sustainable.
New Moon In Taurus – The Aspects
We cannot talk about the New Moon in Taurus without talking about the infamous Mars-Pluto opposition.
The fact that the ‘final blow’ of Mars opposite Pluto (we’ve been experiencing this tension building for months now) coincides with a New Moon – a new beginning – is very telling.
Whenever a transit lasts longer than its normal cycle – this happens when one or both of the planets involved are retrograde – we know it’s important. We also know that the work that needs to be done is not easy. It will create resistance.
Think about it. If it were easy, we would have had our regular Mars-Pluto transit for 2–3 days. Thank you Mars, goodbye Mars, thank you Pluto, goodbye Pluto.
But no. This time around, we are digging into something that is deeply embedded in our being, woven into the fabric of our identity. Something so entwined with our values that we don’t even think to question it. Something we resist by default, as if it were a natural law.
And when we face THAT kind of resistance – the transit lingers. We get a second blow. Then a third.
With this Mars-Pluto opposition, we’ve gone deep – and touched something intimately tied to our identity and place in the world.
Mars is our will – what we want, what matters to us, what feels like a direct expression of our individuality. Mars needs to emerge and be expressed. That’s why Mars is also associated with anger – because we get angry when we don’t get our way.
Pluto is the higher octave of Mars. If Mars is our personal will, Pluto is the collective will – the sum of all individual wills out there, woven into the larger unfolding of reality.
If Mars is what we want to happen, Pluto is what actually happens.
All good when the two align, right? You want your favorite sports team to win (Mars) – and they do (Pluto).
But what if they don’t? What if things don’t go as planned? What if the world is uncooperative – at least as seen from our individual Mars lens – and there’s nothing we can do about it?
THIS is the ultimate Pluto test. Do we accept reality, or do we resist it?
When Mars is opposite Pluto, these two forces are at odds. Chances are, we’re in resistance mode. There’s something we’re struggling to accept – and instead of facing it, we deny it, fight it, go in circles about it, or project blame onto others.
New Moon In Taurus – Pluto’s Plot Twist
When we have tense Pluto transits, we often feel that the whole world is against us.
We push, we fight – and the world pushes back harder. The external environment feels controlling, oppressive; power imbalances feel heightened and inescapable.
Pluto becomes the bad guy.
But is he, really?
Remember, Pluto is the result of all the inner workings of individuals – all the drives, desires, and fears that, together, create a collective force. Pluto is that mass effect.
When we don’t like the results of this “mass effect,” we project our anger and discomfort onto people and situations that appear to symbolize Plutonic power – systems, authorities, or individuals who seem to hold more control than we do.
These people or institutions – who don’t let us get what we want (Mars) – become the “power-hungry,” the “abusers,” the “manipulators.”
But the twist here is that Pluto doesn’t create them – it reveals them.
“The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves.”
Pluto simply exposes the shadow content already alive inside us.
Just like a liar assumes everyone else is lying, the inauthentic sees manipulation everywhere. The power-hungry sees abusers around every corner. And the disempowered believes that everyone else is somehow more powerful.
Pluto, in its harshest transits, shows us where we’re still entangled – where we’ve given away our power, or denied our agency.
Whenever personal power is not embodied and acted upon in an honest, integrated way, it becomes subdued.
A little bit less authentic, with every action that is not aligned with our true essence. A little bit delayed, with every little secret we keep. A little bit distorted, whenever we choose to turn a blind eye, reframe, reinterpret, and try to control or manipulate the natural flow of life to suit a version of the truth we find more comfortable at the moment.
Pluto is that knowing that sooner or later, whatever mask, whatever white lie, whatever step we skip to avoid discomfort – is only taking us farther and farther away from our truth, from our true power – and will eventually boomerang back to us.
New Moon In Taurus – Get Real
Pluto reminds us that power doesn’t lie in withholding, diverting, or bending reality, but in expressing, confronting, and being real.
Mars is in Leo. Are we asserting ourselves for the sake of being right, or for the sake of being real? Do we do it for approval – or for authentic alignment? Do we want to be known, or do we want to be seen?
At its highest, Mars in Leo is not about acting from ego, but from the courage to express the truth of oneself.
And courage does not mean blazing into other people’s lives shouting, “THIS is what I want!” – as if our desire was the only one that mattered.
Courage is about the willingness to be real in every fiber of our being – whatever that means.
No more pretense. No more facade. No more baby voice – when you don’t get your way. No more smiling – if you don’t mean it.
Sometimes this means walking away. Sometimes it means silence. Most of the time, it means removing all the programming, layers and layers of conditioning, and acting from a deeper place – one rooted in clarity, and truth.
Mars in Leo might be tempted to wear flashy garments to ‘impress’ Pluto. It might arch its back like a cat – to signal it’s ready to fight.
But Pluto doesn’t care about any of this. Pluto doesn’t care if you come, or if you go.
Stop trying to impress, convince, or persuade Pluto.
Instead, get real.
Pluto is not here to fight you. It’s not here to win over you. It’s not here to crush you.
All these are illusions our own ego creates so it can stay in control.
The enemy you’re fighting does not exist.
Just like the windmills that became enemies in Don Quixote’s projection on his quest to prove his chivalry, Pluto becomes our projection – a backdrop for the unresolved power dynamics within ourselves.
As Kafka said, “The court wants nothing from you – it receives you when you come, and dismisses you when you go.”
The court doesn’t pursue us – we go to it.
It doesn’t ask anything – yet we feel we must explain ourselves.
It doesn’t judge – but we feel judged.
We’re basically seeking something from something that wants nothing from us.
And this one-sided pursuit alters our actions, our motivations – and step by (inauthentic) step, creates a narrative that is no longer rooted in our true self. A fake story that ends up living us, instead of the other way around.
As disorienting as this might feel (since we’re wired to function in a world of hierarchy, and validation) – what if you lived your life as if no one was watching?
What if you moved with the quiet simplicity of nature, where the flower grows, blooms, and fruits – not to impress, not to prove, but simply because it’s in its nature to do so?
The New Moon in Taurus asks: can we simply get on with our lives – not for approval, not for validation, not for verdicts?
Can we step out of the fake story we’ve been performing, and into something that actually feels like us?
The New Moon in Taurus is not here to teach us anything. It’s not here to give us guidance – to offer us a prayer, a ritual, or a promise of transformation. It simply demands us to get real.
