Meta has announced the rollout of a new generative AI video editing feature, now available on the Meta AI app, Meta.AI website, and the Edits app. The tool is aimed at simplifying video editing for users without professional experience, allowing them to transform short-form videos using a selection of pre-set AI prompts.The launch is part of Meta’s broader effort to integrate AI-driven content creation tools across its platforms. Inspired by its Movie Gen models, the current offering allows users to apply a variety of transformations to 10-second segments of their videos. The edits can alter elements such as clothing, location, and visual style, offering an accessible entry point for personal and creative video customisation.Users can upload videos directly through the Meta AI app, Edits app, or the Meta.AI website. From there, they can choose from over 50 prompts to apply to their video clip. The transformation options range from stylised effects—like converting footage into a graphic novel or vintage comic book—to atmospheric changes, such as turning a gloomy outdoor scene into a dreamy, soft-focus visual complete with sparkles and colour filters.Another preset allows for a gaming-inspired transformation, adding video game-style visuals and character designs, including neon lighting and battle-themed outfits. The edits are rendered by Meta AI and made available for free for a limited time, although users can only transform up to ten seconds per video during the trial period.Once edited, videos can be shared directly to Meta’s social platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, via the Edits and Meta AI apps. The Meta.AI web version also allows for publishing to the Discover feed, expanding the reach of user-generated content within Meta’s ecosystem.The company says it has collaborated with content creators to develop prompt styles that resonate with digital audiences. The tool is being positioned not only as a creative outlet for casual users but also as a production aid for social media influencers and video creators looking to streamline their workflows.Available in the United States and more than a dozen other countries, the feature marks Meta’s initial foray into consumer-facing AI video editing. According to the company, more advanced functionality is planned for later this year, including the ability to customise video edits using free-form text prompts.

Acer has entered the Indian smartphone market with its budget offering, the Super ZX. The Indian budget smartphone market is already too saturated, but Acer has created a phone that is hard to beat on paper. It features an excellent design, a large high refresh rate display, a triple camera setup, and a large battery.All this, starting at ₹9,999, looks like such a great deal. But how does the smartphone perform in real life? It looks and feels like a decent mid-range smartphone with a really nice-looking and solid polycarbonate build. The frame is all plastic-looking without any chrome finish to make it look premium, and that’s what I loved about this honest design from Acer.Acer Super ZX DesignThe back panel is also polycarbonate, but this frosty finish gives it a glass look. It keeps the fingerprints and smudges away from the phone. Its large circular camera module is inspired by modern flagships. Acer also tried to make the smartphone look modern from the front by adding a punch-hole selfie camera. The display does come with a forehead and chin as expected from a budget smartphone.Acer Super ZX DesignThe in-hand feel of the phone is also pretty good. It’s 200 grams and 8.6mm thick. It’s got the fingerprint sensor on the side with the power button for convenience. Some notable things on the phone are the stereo speakers and a headphone jack.Acer Super ZX displayIf there’s a feature that punches above the phone’s price, it’s the display. It is a 6.78-inch IPS display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Acer added a punch-hole instead of dewdrop notches, which is a nice touch. There are significant bezels around the display with a thick chin, but we cannot complain because this is the norm at this price.Acer Super ZX displayWhen it comes to experience, the display is great for videos and other multimedia content. It is bright enough to keep the content visible outdoors under harsh sunlight. The display has some software tweaking going on to imitate the deep blacks and contrast of an OLED panel. But it’s done just right to enjoy the content without compromising the experience.Acer Super ZX performance and softwareSuper ZX is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM (plus an additional virtual 8GB RAM boost). It handles every daily task with ease, with quick app launches and fluid multitasking. Casual gaming is also perfectly fine, like running BGMI or indie games.But as soon as we switch to demanding games like Genshin, the performance significantly degrades. Well, this is expected and the target audience of this smartphone isn’t gamers, so overall the performance is good.Acer Super ZX OSAs expected from Acer, the Super ZX comes preinstalled with the latest Android 15 with a near-stock interface. There is little to no bloatware on the smartphone. While there’s no announcement yet, we can expect timely updates since this is the first smartphone from Acer in the Indian market.Acer Super ZX cameraThe triple camera setup at the back includes a 64 MP main sensor, and 2 MP depth and macro lenses. Instead of two 2 MP sensors, the addition of a wide sensor would have been a wise decision. The 64 MP sensor performs really well. I found the colours in the pictures to be a bit oversaturated, but we cannot complain at this price and honestly, these pictures are good enough for social media.Acer Super ZX CameraThe 13 MP selfie camera captures decent pictures with good details. For videos, the camera can go up to 2K, and there is software-based stabilisation provided, but it caps the videos at 1080p. There are multiple different camera features to play with, like night mode, pro mode, portrait and more.Acer Super ZX sound and connectivityTo future-proof the device, Acer offers 5G connectivity with the Super ZX, and I used my Airtel 5G. The download speed came out to be similar to what I get in my area, and the call quality is also good. The addition of stereo speakers is a surprise at this price, and they are pretty loud and clear too—best for watching videos.Acer Super ZX batteryAcer Super ZX features a 5000 mAh battery which is large enough to give you more than a day of backup with minimal usage. Power users can also get a whole day of backup with a full charge.The charger comes inside the box and charges the smartphone at 33 watts max. Surprisingly, the charger is a PD charger and comes with a nice braided Type-C to Type-C cable. Two technician visits and a fair bit of patience later, everything clicked – now, unlocking happens smoothly with a tap or swipe.Nine ways to enter, one door to secureThis lock offers nine ways to open: NFC, smartwatch, BLE remote, Wi-Fi, fingerprint, PIN, RFID card, mechanical key, and one-time passcode. Dual authentication adds extra security, while scheduled access lets you grant entry for limited times, which I’ve used numerous times to grant entry to guests or help. I find this feature especially useful because I live on the second floor and don’t have to keep going downstairs to let someone in. The mechanical key, using EXS tech, is reassuringly strong, and the three-year warranty might come in handy if the lock fails in the near-future.Not all sunshine and fingerprintsThe fingerprint scanner works about six times out of ten, which can be slightly frustrating if you’re tired from a long day and just want to enter your home. For elders or anyone less comfortable with tech, this can be a hassle. Battery life is another consideration – our first set of batteries ran out in less than a month. You’ll also need reliable Wi-Fi and a constant power supply for the lock hub. But once these considerations are accounted for and out of the way, you get a really smart lock that makes entry and exit less of a hassle. Especially if you’re coming back late often and are tired of waking the whole family up to unlock the door. This lock saved me a lot of midnight scolds, and perhaps it could do the same for you.The Advantis appManaging the lock is mostly a breeze thanks to the Advantis app. You can lock and unlock your door, add primary users, set up new PINs, and manage access for guests – all from your phone. The app is intuitive and easy to use for the most part, making it straightforward for anyone comfortable with smartphones. For most people, using the app shouldn’t be a hurdle, and it opens up plenty of ways to customise who can enter and when.Living with a smart lockThere’s a learning curve, especially for households new to smart tech. Initial Bluetooth pairing hiccups were frustrating, but once resolved, the lock has been reliable. The convenience of keyless entry, remote access, and monitoring who comes and goes is hard to overstate. A lock that simply becomes part of your daily routine, making every journey smoother and much easier than before.Should you buy this lock?The Godrej Smart Lock Advantis IoT9 isn’t perfect, but it’s a big step toward a more secure, convenient home.
