Diljit Dosanjh has been consistently making headlines since the release of the Sardaar Ji 3 trailer. While the Punjabi singer-actor faced significant backlash over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film, he has also received support from several voices within the industry. One of the most notable was veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who came out in strong defence of Dosanjh.

Shah had posted a scathing message targeting the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for imposing a ban on Diljit. However, the post soon disappeared from his Facebook feed, prompting speculation that he had deleted it. As it turns out, the post was taken down by the platform itself, not by the actor.

In an article published in The Indian Express, Naseeruddin Shah clarified the situation: “If this is taken to be a justification of my Facebook post (which has been taken down, not deleted by me) in support of Diljit Dosanjh, so be it. But the fact is, I need to justify nothing. I said whatever I had to say, and I stand by it. Nor am I discouraged by the lack of support from the film industry. I wasn’t expecting any — they all either have too much to lose or they disagree.”

He also addressed online trolling, quoting poet Jigar Moradabadi in response to a particularly aggressive comment: “And to the trolls, particularly the one who said to me ‘Pakistan nahin ab kabristaan’, I can only quote Jigar Moradabadi: ‘Mujhe de na ghaiz mein dhamkiyaan, giren lakh baar ye bijliyan, Meri saltanat yehi aashiyaan, meri milkiyat yehi chaar par’ (Do not threaten me in anger, let lightning strike a thousand times / My nest is my domain, these four feathers are all I own).”

For those unfamiliar with the now-removed post, Shah had criticized the “dirty tricks department of the Jumla Party,” referring to the political climate. An excerpt from the post read: “What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I’ve close relatives and some dear friends there, and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever I feel like it. And my response to those who will say, ‘Go to Pakistan’, is ‘GO TO KAILASA’.”

With just a month to go before Sholay marks its 50th anniversary, the iconic 1975 Bollywood classic has received an international nod of recognition. An Iranian newspaper recently dedicated a full-page tribute to the film, underlining its cultural impact and enduring popularity in the country.

The tribute was shared on the official X (formerly Twitter) page of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai. The post described Sholay as a “cornerstone of cinematic memory” in Iran, highlighting how the film continues to resonate with Iranian audiences nearly five decades after its release.

“On #Sholay’s 50th anniversary, #IranNewspaper dedicated a full-page tribute to the iconic film. With its unforgettable story of friendship, Sholay became a cornerstone of cinematic memory in #Iran; so much so that many Iranians still associate #Bollywood with this epic,” the post read.

The film, which featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar, Jaya Bachchan, and Amjad Khan, was directed by Ramesh Sippy and written by the celebrated duo Salim-Javed.

Further spotlighting Sholay‘s influence, the Consulate General noted that Iranian actor Navid Mamza once portrayed a villain in a local film inspired by Amjad Khan’s portrayal of the infamous Gabbar Singh — a character that remains one of Indian cinema’s most enduring antagonists.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India also acknowledged the tribute by reposting the update with the caption, “Sholay turns 50 and Iran still remembers.”

Sholay is widely regarded as a landmark in Indian cinema, and this recognition from Iran adds another chapter to its legacy of cross-cultural appreciation.

Casual Layers with a Pop of Blue

In one of her more understated appearances, Rashmika paired a light blue cotton shirt with a Persian blue jacket and a black skirt. She added blue earrings and styled her hair in a half-tied look, making the outfit feel relaxed yet thoughtfully put together.

A Dramatic All-Black Moment

For a red-carpet-ready look, she wore a black corset gown featuring a sheer midsection and soft center pleats. The gown included a dupatta-style drape, and she chose to go minimal on accessories, letting the silhouette and smokey eyes do the talking.

Floral Embellishments and Subtle Glamour

Rashmika stepped out in a black bodycon gown with thin straps, sequins, and floral details that added dimension to the piece. The look was refined and could work equally well for evening outings or festive occasions.

Playing with Oversized Layers

In a street-style inspired look, Rashmika layered an oversized black jacket over a mini leather skirt and teamed it with stilettos. The styling leaned into bold territory but was grounded by the monochrome palette.

Olive Tones and Minimal Styling

For a softer look, she wore an olive green corset maxi dress paired with brown boots. With minimal accessories and a clean hairdo, this outfit was a reminder of how earthy tones can make a subtle yet lasting impression.

Structured Layers for the Red Carpet

Combining a sleeveless black gown with a long black denim jacket, Rashmika created a high-fashion moment that stood out for its unusual pairing. Wet-look hair and pink-toned makeup added an edge to the ensemble.

All That Glitters in Gold

In a metallic gold corset gown with a flowing train, Rashmika leaned into old-school glamour. She styled the outfit with a chunky choker and straight hair, rounding off the look with golden heels for a cohesive finish.

While her fashion choices span different moods and occasions, Rashmika Mandanna’s style consistently reflects a comfort with experimentation—often combining simplicity with elements of bold expression. These looks serve not only as fashion inspiration but as reminders that personal style doesn’t always have to follow trends—it can also create them.

Ajay Devgn’s hook step from the upcoming film Son of Sardaar 2 has sparked a wave of memes across social media, and the latest to join in on the trend is his daughter, Nysa Devgan. Teaming up with close friend and internet personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, Nysa recreated her father’s hand gesture from the ‘Pehla Tu’ song in a light-hearted Instagram video.

The clip, shared by Orry on Tuesday, July 15, featured the duo mimicking the dance step with an added dose of humour. The background track plays the same ‘Pehla Tu’ number, while Orry appears in a green vest and distressed cargo pants, maintaining a poker face. Nysa, dressed in a white ruffled top and denim jeans, adds a playful smile to the moment.

The on-screen text reads, “Imagine hating on us but we are at home doing this,” while the caption playfully notes, “She did not even have to learn the dance.”

The buzz around the step began after the trailer of Son of Sardaar 2 launched in Mumbai a few days ago. Speaking at the event, Ajay Devgn addressed the internet’s reaction, saying, “I do not know about people. But I will tell you — aap log mera mazak uda rahe ho, lekin mere liye yeh bhi karna bahut mushkil hai. Woh maine kar diya, uska aap log shukar kariye.”

His co-star Mrunal Thakur also weighed in, saying, “So, actually it looks very easy, but when you do it yourself, you will understand that it is actually a big mental workout.”

Son of Sardaar 2 is set to premiere on July 25. The film reunites Ajay Devgn with Mrunal Thakur and marks the return of the franchise nearly 13 years after the original was released in 2012.
