Directed by Farhan Zamma, First Copy explores the underbelly of the film industry during a time when pirated tapes were in high demand and storytelling held emotional and aspirational value for audiences. Munawar Faruqui plays Arif, a piracy mastermind navigating ambition, struggle, and identity in an evolving cinematic landscape.

Amogh Dusad, Director and Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, described the show as “a powerful underdog story – about a dreamer chasing ambition and identity amidst the chaos of the fascinating ’90s film world.” He added, “With Munawar Faruqui making his scripted series debut, the show brings a fresh, honest voice to an era when stories weren’t just entertainment – they were escape, connection, and hope.”

Speaking about his role, Munawar said, “First Copy is that underdog story and extremely special to me as it marks my acting debut in a series. Playing the role of Arif was an interesting challenge; he’s full of life, has his flaws, but is someone with big dreams.”

Krystle D’Souza, who plays Mona, added, “Mona is a woman of various masks… For me, it was refreshing to portray a woman who refuses to disappear, even when the world tells her she’s past her prime.”

Veteran actor Gulshan Grover, who portrays Mahesh Kumar, noted, “Playing Mahesh Kumar was like revisiting an era I’ve personally witnessed evolve… The series brings back the essence of 90s cinema, the drama, the chaos, and the emotional stakes.”

Director Farhan Zamma described the project as a personal tribute to the golden age of cinema, “First Copy is a project close to our hearts… It’s not just about the film industry, but about human ambition.”

First Copy will be available for free on Amazon MX Player across mobile apps, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs starting June 20.

Global superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas has yet again wowed audiences with her fierce performance in Heads of State, now streaming on Prime Video. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Madhavan showered Priyanka with praise for not only taking on the lead role in a big-budget Hollywood action-comedy but doing so with effortless command. “She has nonchalantly gone there and taken the main lead in such a massive Hollywood project. She’s done action in the film, and I think half of the heroes in India would love to be in her position, playing a role in that kind of movie,” Madhavan said, pointing to her groundbreaking work in a genre historically dominated by male leads.

Priyanka plays Noel Bisset, a fearless MI6 operative who joins forces with characters played by John Cena and Idris Elba in this high-stakes, globe-trotting adventure. With razor-sharp delivery and unmatched screen presence, Priyanka has been praised across the board for not just holding her own—but stealing the show. “I’m a really big fan of how she is and how she’s carried herself. I am very proud of her,” R Madhavan added.

He also took to social media to share his thoughts on Heads of State, calling it a “victory that feels personal,” highlighting the significance of Priyanka’s achievement for South Asian representation in global cinema.

Comedian Zarna Garg echoed the sentiment in the comments of a fan post, writing, “Appreciate a brown dude who spills facts.” From Quantico to Citadel and now Heads of State, Priyanka Chopra Jonas continues to blaze trails for South Asian talent — with grace, grit, and undeniable global impact.

Isha Koppikar shares powerful advice on burnout, failure, and dreams: “Shah Rukh Khan has said ‘those who don’t do anything do wonders’” : Bollywood News

Isha Koppikar is no stranger to fame, failure, and the fine balance between the two. In an inspiring and brutally honest message to the youth, the actress laid bare her philosophy on dreams, setbacks, mental health, and what it truly takes to stay the course in a world that demands perfection.

Isha Koppikar shares powerful advice on burnout, failure, and dreams: “Shah Rukh Khan has said ‘those who don’t do anything do wonders’”

“It is very important to dream,” said Isha. “I always believe and say this. But without any plan, to dream like this is just an illusion. It exhausts you. It confuses you.” While she champions ambition, she emphasizes that the real journey begins after the lights dim and the applause fades. “Fairy tales, dream land are very good. We watch movies till the end. What happens after the end? This is real life. Reality is after the end. After the movies, after the end. Where you need patience, planning, mental strength,” added the actress.

Drawing from her own experiences in the industry, Isha reminds young dreamers that glamour often hides the grind. “You don’t get anything overnight. Rome was not built in a day. Rejection, discipline. A lot of time, a lot of efforts, passion. You need everything. But to run it you need a clear plan.”

And when that plan doesn’t work out? Isha doesn’t believe in quitting. “Change the plan. Don’t leave the goal,” she affirms. She also addressed burnout, calling it a sign to pause rather than a sign of weakness. “It’s okay to do nothing. Shah Rukh Khan has said ‘those who don’t do anything do wonders.’ Rest, reset, unlearn, learn, upgrade. Then come back. Stronger than before,” added the actress.

Mental peace, she insisted, trumps all as she went on to state, “The pressure is from society, from peers, from family, from friends, from yourself… but mental peace and strength are above everything.”

Isha also spoke about defining success on one’s own terms. “Every dream has a cost. If you are ready to pay the price then go all in. If not, no problem. No guilt. Your success should be your definition and not anyone else’s,” she maintained.

Her final message? “Life is not permanent. Don’t take it too seriously. Enjoy it… God has given us the power that we can do anything. Love you and God bless,” she said before signing off.
